Favorite quote
”To me, there are three things we all should do every day. Number one is laugh. You should laugh every day. Number two is think. You should spend some time in thought. Number three is, you should have your emotions moved to tears, it could be happiness or joy. But think about it: If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that's a full day. That is a heck of a day. You do those seven days a week, you're going to have something special.” —Jim Valvano
Why Missouri State?
I chose Missouri State because when I visited the campus, its physical size felt perfect for me. I remember taking the tour and feeling that although the university had so many students, they made my experience personal. I felt this individualized touch during my entire college career, and this brought me to love Missouri State.
What was special to you about MSU?
Missouri State is special because of the people here and the way they positively impact the community. During my time as a student, I consistently felt like both students and employees were happy to be there. I saw this positive mindset throughout campus, and it made my experience that much greater. Whether I was getting a Starbucks coffee or going to an advisor to change my major, I was met with authenticity and care. This made me want to spread that care to others.
Favorite thing about MSU?
My favorite thing about Missouri State was the opportunities I had. I felt like I was able to get incredibly involved as a student on campus, and the people around me had full confidence in my abilities. I learned a lot about leadership, how to think critically, and how others communicate, mostly through the hands-on experience I acquired. I feel confident in myself and my abilities in life outside of college, and I can thank MSU for that.
