Discovering Resources for Success
Services to help you succeed
Our Division of Student Success has a multitude of services to help you reach your academic, personal and professional goals.
Bear CLAW (Center for Learning and Writing)
Tutoring, time management consultations, study skills sessions, and other academic assistance; located in Meyer Library.
The Writing Center (located in the Bear CLAW)
Here, students work one-on-one with trained peer consultants and receive help writing papers. They can give you feedback regardless of the topic of the paper and where it is in the writing process.

Peer-Assisted Study Session (PASS)
This program offers review sessions for students who are taking historically difficult courses. During these sessions, PASS leaders — MSU students who have successfully completed the course — guide current students through the materials. PASS.MissouriState.edu
Academic Coaches and Peer Mentors
Get help from those who’ve been where you are! Academic coaches and peer mentors can help you strengthen study skills, set goals, and connect to useful resources.
We offer support for first-generation students
More than a third of MSU undergraduates are students whose parents have not earned a four-year degree (or “first-generation”). If that’s you, we have classes, student organizations and programs just for you. Start by exploring our first-gen student support website, with information on academics, financial considerations and family involvement.

Ethics concern? We have a 24/7 hotline
We value ethical behavior, and always want to know how we can improve. If you have a concern about ethics, we encourage you to report it. If you’re uncomfortable discussing your concern with an official, a third-party hotline service is available. You can connect with the hotline by phone or online, 24/7. Reports may be made anonymously. Examples of reportable issues include, but are not limited to:
- Misuse, theft or embezzlement of university funds or property.
- Waste of university resources, funds or property.
- Bribes or kickbacks.
- Research or scientific misconduct.
- Falsification of contracts, timesheets, reports or other records.
- Discrimination against an employee or student on the basis of a protected class (e.g., race, sex, disability, etc.).
- Public or environmental safety issues.
- Serious or recurring violations of university policies.
