- Faculty members
- Academic advisors
How do I know which career is for me?
The Career Center can help you. The staff offers assessments to help you discover which options might suit you best. You can also explore internship opportunities. Lastly, we have a class that can help. It’s called IDS 120: Exploring Majors and Careers.
* Including 40+ accelerated master’s degrees, which you can earn credit toward as an undergraduate student!
What type of courses will I take?
1. General Education
Why should an art major take classes in math and science? Why should a science major take humanities classes? Because higher education, and your Missouri State experience, should do more than simply prepare you for a single career path! Your general education courses will lead you to think more deeply about topics outside of your career path. They provide you with vital skills, such as problem-solving and critical-thinking.

2. Courses you're required to take to complete your major or minor fields of study
Missouri State has dozens of well-established degree programs — or create your own through an individualized major.
3. Electives you choose based on your interests and career goals
This is where you can have fun and try many new things! Electives — or simply, courses you elect to take, in any topic — allow you to study anything that interests you.
