The Brightspace Virtual Assistant is an AI-based help tool that is integrated directly
into Brightspace as a pop-up window. It provides access to live agents directly in
the platform for 24/7 support as well as access to help documentation, step-by-step
guides, and video tutorials.
Click the Virtual Assistant button on the bottom right of the page.
In the message box, type out the issue you are having trouble with or select one of
the generated options. The Virtual Assistant will try to find resources that may be
able help you.
Please Note: The Virtual Assistant sometimes has trouble discerning whether a faculty member
or a student is asking for help. To ensure you receive the proper support, it will
be beneficial to note whether you are a student or a member of faculty in your query.
If you are still receiving articles meant for a different role, you may need to contact
Brightspace support with your question.
When the Contact Support button is selected, the following options appear:
Call us: users will be given the correct phone number for their organization.
Email us: a case will be created from the tool and will be sent to the D2L end user
support team.
Chat with us: users can chat with a live D2L support agent while navigating through
different areas of Brightspace.
Request a new account or help getting access to Brightspace if you're unable to login.
Students and Faculty will have accounts automatically created, but Staff need to request
access to Brightspace.
Faculty who are experiencing issues with Brightspace API tools such as requesting
source courses or non academic courses, combining course sections or adding users
to course sites may open a ticket with Computer Services for assistance.
