Alice Bartee Inducted into MSU Wall of Fame

Dr. Alice Fleetwood Bartee has been chosen as one of the six former faculty and staff members selected for the 2013 Missouri State University Wall of Fame induction to be held in October, 2013, during Homecoming. TheWall of Fame, located outside the ballroom in the Plaster Student Union (3rd floor), is a designated location for the University to recognize and honor employees who have excelled at Missouri State and significantly contributed to the success and positive collegiate experience of students. While Missouri State has had many outstanding employees during its long history, the intention of theWall of Fame is to recognize those faculty and staff members who have had a positive impact on students that is considered truly noteworthy.

According to the press release, "the late Dr. Alice Fleetwood Bartee, political science professor for 38 years, was 'everything that you could ask of a professor – challenging, engaging and involved,' said her nominator. Her soft-spoken manner yet dynamic nature inspired her students to reach for their goals and prepared them for the rigors of law school through her constitutional law and civil liberties courses. Through these courses, she showed the law as a living, breathing system – one that was to be respected. As an adviser, she showered her students with unfaltering faith in their abilities and passed down her belief that everyone has innate value."

Dr. Bartee joins five others this year: Dr. William "Bill" Cheek, Clinton "Clint" Copeland, Fred Marty, Gregory P. "Greg" Onstot, and the late Guy Thompson.
