Note: All General Budget Proposal forms must be typed and submitted through BearLINK. Physical and email submissions
will not be accepted. All other forms may be emailed to SOFAC@MissouriState.edu or turned into the Office of Student Engagement.
General Budget Proposal
General Budget Proposals are used to apply for SOFAC funding for the next fiscal year.
Student organizations may only apply for a general funding during the spring semester.
All registered organizations are welcome to apply. Follow the steps below to properly
submit your organization's General Budget Proposal.
Budget Proposal Workshops are mandatory informational sessions hosted by SOFAC for
organizations to learn how to apply for funding. Any organization applying for funding
must attend one workshop in order for their Budget Proposal form to be accepted.
Budget Proposal Workshops are only hosted in February of the spring semester. Please
refer to our SOFAC timeline to find more information about when workshops are being
held.

your device as an Excel file.
Use the Budget Proposal form to plan for events, trips, and activities that your organization
wants to host for the following fiscal year. Your organization will need to do research
into the cost of the expenses associated with these activities and record them on
your Budget Proposal form for SOFAC to review.
If you have any questions or concerns about your organization's Budget Proposal, contact
SOFAC before the submission deadline to receive assistance.
Once your Budget Proposal is completed, navigate to BearLink and upload it to the
SOFAC Budget Proposal Submission Form. Do NOT email your Budget Proposal to SOFAC.
Emailed submissions will be omitted from consideration for SOFAC funding.
Your Budget Proposal must be submitted as an Excel file. Any other file type will
be denied. Budget Proposal submissions made before attending a Budget Proposal Workshop
will also be denied.
Interim Budget Proposal
Interim Budget Proposals are to be used by organizations that were formed after the
General Budget Proposal timeline and therefore could not apply for funding during
the standard submission time. Follow the steps below to properly submit your organization's
Interim Budget Proposal.

Use the Interim Budget Proposal form to plan for events, trips, and activities that
your organization wants to host for the current fiscal year. Your organization will
need to do research into the cost of the expenses associated with these activities
and record them on your Budget Proposal form for SOFAC to review.

Once your Interim Budget Proposal is completed, email your Proposal as an excel file
to SOFAC@MissouriState.edu. Any other file type will be denied. Do NOT upload your submission to BearLink.
Post-Season Funding Request
Post-Season Funding is for organizations that have advanced in a competition or tournament
and are in need of additional funding. This is specifically for competitions/tournaments
that the organization could not plan for during the budget proposal process before
they qualified to participate in the competition/tournament. This must be submitted
at least 10 business days prior to the event.
Use if your organization is new and wanting $100 to assist with marketing and recruitment
costs. You have one year from the date your organization becomes officially registered
to submit this request.
Use if a student from your organization has been invited to speak at an event based
on work they have done in the organization. This must be submitted at least 10 business days prior to the event and is limited
to $250.
