Office of Access and Success Programs

The purpose of Access & Success Programs is to enhance the retention and persistence rates of first-generation, low-income students affiliated with Access Organizations, and to equip these students for success at Missouri State University and beyond. Our office collaborates with Access Organizations and various MSU departments to provide comprehensive support and guidance tailored to student needs.

Our services, Bears Lead, include academic support programming, Success Coaching, and referrals, all aimed at fostering student success. We assist students in setting and achieving their goals through personalized plans. Although all MSU students can access academic advising, counseling, career coaching, campus programming, and leadership opportunities, Access & Success Programs are specifically designed to ensure our students effectively utilize these services. We guide students through available processes and resources to maximize their academic and personal success.

In addition to support services, Access & Success Programs offer varying levels of scholarship funding provided by MSU and the Access Organizations. We actively recruit high school students through Access Programs by visiting organizations in St. Louis, Kansas City, and Springfield, and hosting several on-campus recruitment events.
