SOAR Checklist
Completing the tasks below will help make your transition to Missouri State easy and organized.

Note: You will not be allowed to enroll in classes if these tasks are not completed before your SOAR session.
Apply for housing (or obtain an exception to live off-campus)
All single students under 21 years of age who have completed fewer than 27 hours of transferable credit after high school graduation are required to complete a housing contract before registering for classes.
Applications are complete when:
- You have submitted the online housing application
- Your $100 housing deposit has been paid
- Your meningitis vaccination records are on file at Magers Health and Wellness Center
- You have a parent signature on file (if needed)

Exceptions to the housing policy must be approved by Residence Life, Housing and Dining Services PRIOR to attending SOAR. See Residence Life, Housing and Dining Services' exception page for details.
Request final high school and college transcripts
Request that your high school and previous colleges send official final transcripts directly to Missouri State's Office of Admissions at least two weeks before your SOAR session date.
You can bring unofficial copies of your transcripts to show your academic advisor if you believe your transcripts will not arrive prior to your SOAR session.

Submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Completing your FAFSA allows you to be considered for financial aid at Missouri State.
Review and accept your financial aid award package
Once your FAFSA is completed and finalized, you'll receive an award offer and instructions for accepting it via your Missouri State email address.

Request accommodations for disabilities
Students with disabilities are encouraged to request accommodations as soon as possible to arrange appropriate accommodations for classes, programs such as SOAR, and other University events. Contact the Disability Resource Center at 417-836-4192 or email us at DRC@MissouriState.edu for more information.
Complete the Foster Recreation Center liability waiver
Students are required to complete this liability waiver online prior to using Foster Recreation Center facilities.

Access your Wellness Portal
Log into your Wellness portal through your my.missouristate.edu account. Go to Discover, type in Magers Health and Wellness, then click on Access My Health Portal.

Order textbooks at the Missouri State Bookstore
The Missouri State Bookstore makes it easy to order, ship, pick up, or rent your textbooks—all online! View detailed instructions for ordering books online.

Set up your Account Security Information for Self-Service Password Reset

Register a non-MSU email address and phone number you have access to. Then if you ever forget your password or get locked out of your account for too many attempts, the system can send you a code to get you back into your account without having to contact the Help Desk.Get your BearPass
We want you to have the best experience at SOAR! Here is info on how to submit your photo online for your BearPass Card. This will lower wait times and additional long lines. Go to www.missouristate.edu/onlinephotosubmission to start the photo submission process. You will need to be able to login to your Missouri state account. For Help with this you can contact the Help Desk for assistance. https://helpdesk.missouristate.edu/
Once you have logged in to your account, follow the easy steps to submit your photo.
Purchase a parking permit
Campus parking permits are required of students who will commute or bring a car to campus. Permits are available online July 1st for students starting in August. For students starting in January, you can get your parking permit as soon as you register for classes.
Complete the sexual assault prevention program online
This required online program, Not Anymore, addresses issues of sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking, which impact countless college students across the country. Completion is required of new students before enrolling in their second semester.

Complete the online tuberculosis screening questionnaire
Missouri state law requires the University to perform a targeted tuberculosis testing program prior to on-campus students enrolling for their second semester of courses.
