Want to see how your college credits and test scores (AP/CLEP/IB) will count toward
a degree at Missouri State? BearPACE (Preadmission Academic Credit Estimator) will
show you.
"What courses would I still need to take?" BearPACE helps answer that question. Think
of it as a tool to prepare you to pursue a degree you’re passionate about.
Frequently asked questions
We recommend trying out BearPACE if you are…
A prospective transfer student wanting to see how your credits would transfer,
Enrolled in a community college but planning to attend Missouri State in the future,
A high school student (or parent) wanting to see how your college credits would transfer,
A high school counselor wanting to see how your school's dual credit classes would
transfer
or
An academic advisor working with a potential student who has not yet applied to MSU.
In most cases, both should match. But you might notice some differences if:
You transfer in several courses equal to the same MSU credit. The Office of Admissions may only count the first one for credit and GPA consideration.
Several of your credit-by-exam credits transfer to MSU as the same courses. The Office of Admissions will determine if you can receive alterative elective credit.
No. BearPACE generates a fresh degree audit each time you use it, even if you create
an account. Keep in mind you can generate an audit for one major and one minor at
a time in BearPACE, but that admitted students will have the option to pursue additional
majors/minors/certificates if you wish to do so.
No, we won’t be able to track the email you use to create your account. You’ll have
the option to request info at the end of the degree audit.
Location of the institution (e.g. city and state),
Course prefix/number (e.g., ABC 123) and
Course title.
The Office of Admissions will review the request and potentially add this information
to BearPACE.
This means there are several ways to evaluate your course. The Office of Admissions
will review it once you apply to MSU. Contact BearPACE@missouristate.edu to learn how the evaluation process impacts your course.
Yes! Students have the ability to request for a course reevaluation to be considered.
Take care of this after you’re admitted and meet with an academic advisor. Then you
can submit your course for re-evaluation via your My Missouri State account.
Unfortunately, Missouri State does not have the ability to reset a BearPACE password.
You would need to create a new account using a different email address than what you
used for your previous account setup.
If you use a tablet, you may find the audit to be wider than the screen will show
and the right side of the audit may be cutoff. Portrait orientnation will also reduce
the visibility of the sections of the interface, requiring the use of buttons to navigate
sections. Holding your tablet in a landscape orientation (as opposed to portrait style)
will generally allow for the same user experience as a desktop or laptop.
If you use a phone, over half of the audit will be cutoff of on the right side. For
that reason, phone usage is only recommended if you are creating an account to save
course/exam information to view in a degree audit on an alternative desktop/laptop/tablet
during a later session.
Both tablet and phone options contain the ability to access a PDF, but you will want
to download it versus opening it. If you select open, it will not render correctly.
Downloading as a PDF on these devices can sometimes be a little lengthy timewise.
