Become a Mentor
We have three different types of mentors. Please be sure to indicate how you would like to serve.
- One-on-One Mentor: Point person for mentees.
- Presenter Mentor: Leads professional development on tenure and promotion topics.
- Community Mentor: Provides support for community related Initiatives and connections.
Note: Currently not receiving mentor applications for this academic year. Please contact Dr. Judith Martínez for specific questions.

Mentor Requirements
- Tenured status or Senior Instructor (This might be waived by the committee under specific and unique circumstances in the benefit the mentee)
- Demonstrated commitment with inclusive engagement in research, teaching and service at Missouri State University and in the Ozarks community.
- 5 consecutive years at Missouri State University prior to applying
- Proven service leadership
- A letter of support from a current mentor of the Bear Bridge Mentoring Program
- Fill out application form and submit materials by August 1 of the academic term
- Meet with program director
