Become a Mentor

We have three different types of mentors. Please be sure to indicate how you would like to serve.

1. One-on-One Mentor: Point person for mentees.
2. Presenter Mentor: Leads professional development on tenure and promotion topics.
3. Community Mentor: Provides support for community related Initiatives and connections.

Note: Currently not receiving mentor applications for this academic year. Please contact Dr. Judith Martínez for specific questions.

Mentor Requirements

• Tenured status or Senior Instructor (This might be waived by the committee under specific and unique circumstances in the benefit the mentee)
• Demonstrated commitment with inclusive engagement in research, teaching and service at Missouri State University and in the Ozarks community.
• 5 consecutive years at Missouri State University prior to applying
• Proven service leadership
• A letter of support from a current mentor of the Bear Bridge Mentoring Program
• Fill out application form and submit materials by August 1 of the academic term
• Meet with program director
