Early Decision

Early decision is a binding admission option. It allows you to target a specific pharmacy degree program as your first choice.

As an early decision applicant, you can apply to one pharmacy degree program. You agree to enroll, if accepted.

Early decision application steps

  • Meet the PharmD application requirements.
  • Take the Pharmacy College Admissions Test (PCAT) in July to ensure the scores are available and you have the best chance of participating in early decision.
  • Complete your PharmCAS application.
    • Apply by September 1 (for admission the following year)
    • Select UMKC School of Pharmacy as your first choice
    • If you want to remain in Springfield, choose Springfield as your preferred campus. Or, choose among the other UMKC sites to meet your needs.
  • Arrange for PharmCAS to receive your official transcripts, test scores and fees by the September 1 deadline.
  • Monitor your applicant portal after you've submitted your PharmCAS application.
  • If selected, complete an on-site interview with the School of Pharmacy in Springfield in mid-October.

The UMKC School of Pharmacy schedules your interview. Your interview is a required part of the application process.

If your application, transcripts, or fee arrive after the early decision deadline, PharmCAS will automatically change your file from an early decision status to regular status.
