The Office of Student Engagement recognizes there are a lot of important pieces to
leading a student organization successfully. In hopes of making that job a little
easier, we have compiled the following resources for your reference. Whether it be
leading a meeting, maintaining a budget, the following resources will make the job
of leading your organization a much easier and effective experience.

Starting a New Organization - Are you interested in starting a Student Organization? Follow these easy steps. Email StudentOrganizations@MissouriState.edu with any questions.
BearLink is Missouri State University's student organization management platform.
Check this website out to learn about our 320+ student organizations, upcoming events,
and opportunities for YOU to get involved!
Missouri State offers lots of different equipment, available for checkout by current
students at MSU. If you are attempting to locate equipment to be rented and having
trouble, you can reach out the Involvement Ambassadors for a connection to that resource.
Is your organization looking to start a bank account? You'll need an Employer Identification
Number (EIN) if you do not already have one--you can apply here. Once you have an EIN, you can choose whatever bank is best for your organization!
If you have additional questions, reach out to our Involvement Ambassadors or to the
OSE.
Budgeting
Do you have a budget for your organization? Check out this general budget that can be edited to fit the needs of your organization. This can also be helpful
when creating your General Proposal for SOFAC funding! If your organization has received
SOFAC funds for the current academic year, those award letters will be on your organization's
BearLink page in the Documents section.
Are you wanting to edit your constitution or create new by-laws for your student organization?

Officer Position Templates - Do you have a new student organization? Does your organization have specific positions

Parliamentary Procedure - Does your organization use Robert’s Rules of Order? Check out this helpful tool with all of the information needed to facilitate discussion

Similar to Kickstarter and Indiegogo, Missouri State’s crowdfunding platform, GiveCampus, helps student organizations raise money for various causes. You can see examples

Trip Registration - Is your student organization going on a trip? Complete the Trip Registration Form
and Organization Trip Activity & Release Form on the Bear Link form which is located under the "Forms" page.
Remember: if your student organization is (a) traveling outside of a 60-mile radius
from campus; or (b) staying overnight as an organization, the event is considered
a trip and should be registered as such.
