About OPHI

The Ozarks Public Health Institute (OPHI) was established by the Board of Governors in February of 2001 as a Missouri State University-wide Institute with an aim to address public health issues in Missouri. Utilization of the assets and resources of the entire University allows OPHI to offer meaningful services, while addressing a broad range of issues.

Our mission

The mission of the Ozarks Public Health Institute (OPHI) is to address public health issues in Missouri through: external collaborations with its governmental, community, and academic partners and; through its internal collaborations with Missouri State University programs, faculty and staff.

The university

Missouri State University (MSU) is a public, comprehensive metropolitan system with a statewide mission in public affairs. The University fulfills its education mission by offering 88 undergraduate and 50 graduate majors and a vast array of minors, certificates, short courses and other continuing education programs through traditional campus-based and distance learning routes.

The focus of health education at Missouri State includes undergraduate and graduate programs in allied health, health care and health administration. This commitment is exemplified by Masters degrees in: Public Health, Health Promotion and Wellness Management, Public Administration, Hospital Administration, Nursing, Physical Therapy, Physicians Assistant and a number of other programs.
