Choral Auditions
All Fall 2024 choral auditions will take place in Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts (HHPA), Room 305.
Students may participate in multiple choirs.
INITIAL AUDITIONS
Chorale, Men's Chorus, Women's Chorus, Choral Union:
- Initial auditions are scheduled for August 14-18, 2024.
- Each singer in the Missouri State University choral program must sign up for a time to audition in person for Dr. LaBarr and Dr. Plisco.
- There may be up to three people signed up for each 15-minute time slot.
- If you are unavailable during the provided audition times, please contact Dr. Plisco to schedule an alternate audition time.

Wednesday, August 14:
Singers wishing to be considered for ONLY Choral Union or Women’s Chorus.
If you are interested in being considered for Men’s Chorus or Chorale, please sign up for another day.
Thursday, August 15 - Saturday, August 17:
Students wishing to be considered for Chorale, Women’s Chorus, Men’s Chorus or Choral Union.
Sunday, August 18:
Students wishing to be considered for ONLY Men’s Chorus, Women’s Chorus or Choral Union*.
Students wishing to be considered for Chorale must complete an audition before August 18.
* Community members wishing to audition for Choral Union may sign up to audition on Wednesday, August 14, or contact Dr. Plisco to set up an alternate audition time.

Initial Audition Materials:
All scores are linked below.
- Prepare 1-2 verses of a simple folk song or hymn to be sung unaccompanied (i.e. Shenandoah, Amazing Grace).
- Students will be asked to sight-read and vocalize, demonstrating range and vocal color.
CALLBACK AUDITIONS
Callback auditions will take place Sunday, August 18, 2024:
- 4:00-6:00 p.m. — Callback audition for Chorale
- 7:00 p.m. — Rosters posted for Chorale, Women's Chorus, Men's Chorus, and Choral Union
Chorale Callback Audition Materials:
