Costs:
How do you get an engineering scholarship or financial aid?
It depends on how many credit hours you’ve completed.
- First 60 credit hours (including dual credit): You’re eligible for Missouri State scholarships and financial aid.
- After 60 credit hours (including dual credit): You’re eligible for Missouri S&T scholarships and financial aid.
*Missouri State scholarships (with the exception of the Foundation Scholarships) cannot be combined with the Missouri S&T scholasrships.
Missouri State’s Office of Student Financial Aid will process any scholarships and financial aid you receive.

- Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This must be filed with MSU even for S&T scholarships.
- Application for scholarships and aid through Missouri S&T.
- MSU Annual Scholarship Application (Foundation Scholarships).

What are the requirements?
For many scholarships, your grades are the biggest factor.
Your financial need, major and campus or community service can help you earn scholarships, too.
You must meet and maintain the scholarship award and renewal criteria.
You’re considered for all funding in which you’re eligible.
Transfer students
- Transfer students with less than 60 credit hours can receive Missouri State scholarships.
- Transfer students with greater than 60 credit hours will only be eligible to receive the Missouri S&T merit-based transfer scholarships.
- Transfer students are not eligible for Missouri S&T Partners in Excellence scholarships.
*All students of the Cooperative Engineering program with greater than 60 credit hours will be considered transfer students by Missouri S&T for scholarship purposes.

MSU Foundation Scholarships
MSU Foundation Scholarships are made possible through private gifts to the University made by individuals, groups or companies. They are awarded to students each year based on a wide range of criteria: college, major/minor, high school attended, outstanding academic achievement, leadership, financial need, etc.
The Search Tool will allow you to view available scholarships. You may search using keywords or the category search filter option, however you cannot apply for scholarships using the Search Tool.
