Tryout Information
Showcase your athleticism, teamwork and positivity
Tryouts are held in the spring — typically in late April or early May — to build the team for the following year.
The tryout application and medical paperwork is due Monday, April 21, 2025.
You must be accepted to Missouri State in order to try out.
When are tryouts?
Tryouts for the 2025-26 cheer team will be on May 2-4, 2025.
Stay tuned for exact times and locations.
- May 2: Open gym
- May 3-4: Formal tryout process
Clinics and other tryouts
If deemed necessary, an additional tryout will be held in the fall to fill any open positions. Tryout applications are released in February of the tryout year.
Fall recruitment, stunt clinics and open gyms are scheduled based on the teams' availability.
Prior to tryouts, we offer spring tryout clinics to cover the material that will be required during the tryout process. One of these clinics is mandatory to be eligible for tryouts.

If you are trying out for the team, be sure to learn the Missouri State's fight song.
Stunt clinics will be held:
- February 23 at 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
- Check in at 9 a.m.
- March 29 at 11 a.m.-2 p.m.*
- Check in at 10:30 a.m.
- April 12 at 11 a.m.-2 p.m.*
- Check in at 10:30 a.m.
- April 26 at 11 a.m.-2 p.m.*
- Check in at 10:30 a.m.
*One of these clinics is required to be eligible to try out.

Inside the packet you will find details and paperwork needed for the clinics and team tryouts. Be sure you read it all carefully as to not miss any details.
*Failure to provide all required paperwork/items will result in an inability to try out.
