Recreation Information
Facilities Available -- Recreation facilities are available for open play for Missouri State students,
faculty and staff when scheduling permits. All facilities are made available as much
as possible, offering everyone an opportunity for physical exercise and recreation.
Facilities include:
3 courts for basketball/volleyball
2 handball/racquetball courts
9 pickleball courts
Jogging area (1 lap - 1/10 mile)
Parking -- Parking is not included in HSC usage. Missouri State parking pass holders should park in their designate lot color. Guests who are not parking pass holders can use the parking meters. For information on parking, please call Safety & Transportation, 417-836-4825.
Dress Policy -- All persons using HSC are required to wear non-marking, rubber soled shoes on all court and track surfaces. Shirts & shorts or pants are to be worn by all individuals using HSC. Racquetball/handball players are encouraged to wear safety goggles.
Authorized Usage/Rates
Students/Faculty/Staff -- Currently enrolled Missouri State University students and faculty/staff members may use the facilities without charge (ID cards are required)
Event Information
Ticket Information -- Ticket information for all events at HSC can be obtained from any Missouri State Box Office. The HSC Box Office is located at the Main Entrance at 731 Bear Blvd and is only open during events that take place at Hammons Student Center. Call 417-836-7678 for ticket information. The box office inside Great Southern Bank Arena is open 10AM - 5PM Monday - Friday.
Doors Open -- The doors to HSC are generally open to the public one hour prior to the scheduled game time. This can change with specific events. Call 417-836-7678 for questions about specific events.
Guest Service Center -- The HSC Guest Service Center is located in the Main lobby. Upcoming event information and arena information can be obtained at the Guest Service Center.
Smoking/Tobacco -- HSC is a tobacco free facility.
Special Access -- ADA patron seating is located in the platforms located in the Main and Northeast lobbies. Special access features of HSC include convenient entries, parking, accessible restrooms, drinking fountains and elevator access. In addition, service animals are permitted at HSC. Please notify your ticket seller at the time of purchase of any special accommodations required.
Restrooms -- Restrooms are located in each of the four lobbies of HSC.
Food and Drink -- Cans, bottles, coolers and plastic beverage containers are not permitted inside HSC. Food and beverages may not be brought into HSC. Medical exceptions are permitted. Alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited from HSC and University property.
Bag Policy: Fans are permitted to enter the facility with one bag per person that does not exceed 8.5″ x 11″. Guests who have bags larger than this size will be asked to return them to their vehicles. All bags are subject to search for prohibited items at entry before entering the facility.
Cameras and Video -- Cameras and video cameras generally are permitted subject to the approval of the event producer. Video cameras are not allowed during concerts.
Concession Stands -- A concession stand is located in the main lobby of HSC. Water fountains are also located in each of the four lobbies.
Lost and Found -- All lost and found items that are turned in during a game are kept at Guest Services located in the main lobby of HSC. Once the event is over the items are locked for safekeeping. To retrieve items post event, please call the HSC Front Desk at 417-836-5772 Monday - Friday from 9am - 5pm.
Public Safety -- Patrons are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the exits closest to their seat. In the event of an emergency, patrons must be ready to respond to instructions from HSC representatives immediately. Emergency announcements may be made over the public address system during most events.
Building Maps -- Building maps are located in each of the four lobbies. These detailed maps can help answer any questions you may have regarding HSC.
For the safety and security of all patrons, certain items may not be brought into Hammons Student Center. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Outside food or beverage
- Bags exceeding 8.5in x 11in
- Cans
- Bottles
- Coolers
- Thermoses
- Backpacks
- Large bags (gym, duffel, and tote)
- Luggage
- Strollers
- Laser pointers
- Flags
- Noisemakers
- Umbrellas
- Weapons
- Balloons
- Gifts
- Flowers
- Beach balls
All patrons entering Hammons Student Center are subject to search, this varies by event. Storage facilities are not available for checking prohibited items.
