Program Requirements

If you are pursuing a degree in communication studies, you must meet the below requirements to be eligible for graduation. Also, you must complete the general education program, fulfill the general baccalaureate degree requirements and complete at least 120 hours of coursework.

This is a comprehensive major and does not require a minor or second major.

Accelerated graduate program in Communication

Eligible Missouri State undergraduate students may apply for admission to the Communication program and begin taking graduate course work as they complete the work for a bachelor’s degree. A maximum of 12 hours of graduate credit may be counted toward both the undergraduate and graduate degree (Mixed Credit). Refer to the Communication Graduate program requirements for specific admission requirements.

Accelerated graduate program in Professional Studies

Eligible Missouri State undergraduate students may apply for admission to the Master of Professional Studies program and begin taking graduate course work as they complete the work for a bachelor’s degree. A maximum of 12 hours of graduate credit may be counted toward both the undergraduate and graduate degree (Mixed Credit). Refer to the Professional Studies website for specific admission requirements.
