Fill out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)

In order to be considered for all possible financial aid, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is available starting in December this year.   Complete the FAFSA in time for it to be received by the processor prior to February 1. Applications will be accepted after this date, but funds may be limited.  Learn more FAFSA information.

Apply for Scholarships

The application for General and Department scholarships is available each year around November 1 and the deadline is March 1 for the following academic year. Find out more information on scholarships.

Get involved on campus

Recommend that your student visit the Office of Student Engagement website to connect to the campus community.

Time management

Suggest that your student hone their time management skills by utilizing Bear CLAW resources.

Graduate school

Remind your student that the Career Center offers many resources for students interested in graduate studies.

Internships

Encourage your student to visit the Career Center's website to learn important interview skills and look for job opportunities or internships in their field.

Make a positive difference in the world

Remind your student about the Center for Community Engagement and the programs for students to engage with the community.

Stay active

Stress the importance of physical activity. Encourage regularly scheduled times for physical activity. The Campus Recreation Center offers fitness and group exercise, adventure trips, intramural sports, and more than 100 interactive cardio machines.
