Scholarship teams tryouts have begun for the 2025-2026 school year! Please fill out this application. The tryout dates are as follows:
Overwatch 2 – Monday, April 21st
Rocket League – Tuesday, April 22nd
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – Wednesday, April 23rd
The deadline to submit the application is April 11th by 11:45 PM.
Esports Programs at Missouri State University
At Missouri State University, there are many opportunities within our esports domain. MSU esports consists of three main areas: MSU Varsity Teams, MSU Esports Club, and the Esports Major discipline. Located in the Level 1 Game Center on the first floor of the Plaster Student Union, this is the gathering place for all things esports. Whether you are looking to earn a scholarship representing MSU or a first-time gamer, Missouri State University can accommodate you in any way!
MSU Varsity Teams
The Varsity esports teams represents the university in the Missouri Valley Conference. Currently, the game titles in this league are Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, Overwatch 2, and Rocket League. Players competing in this conference earn a scholarship to play after competing against their own during a tryout period.
MSU Esports Club
The esports club serves as the base for a variety of players. Whether you want to compete on a digital battlefield against other schools or are a casual gamer who wants to connect with others on campus, the club is a great organization to join. The club team competes in the NECC competitions and tournaments throughout the school year.
Esports Studies Undergraduate Certificate
A new opportunity has arisen for undergraduate students interested in the world of esports. Through the Department of Kinesiology, a certificate can be earned through a short program of classes.
