Sustainable Development Goals
What are the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's)?
The SDG's are a guide for sustainable community development. They were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as part of the Transforming Our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The SDG's cover a wide range of environmental, social and economic challenges including ending poverty and hunger, protecting the planet, ensuring that all people can enjoy prosperous and healthy lives, and fostering peaceful and inclusive societies without fear and violence. MSU and the SDG's
In the Spring of 2019, MSU became the first state university in Missouri to join the U.S chapter of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN). By doing so, MSU committed to incorporating the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's) into the Sustainability program at MSU and promoting them in the U.S. In addition, AASHE began incorporating the SDG's by reference in each certification criteria in the new STARS Manual 2.2.
