Student Opportunities and Services
Expand your education. Network with professionals.
The School of Accountancy sponsors two student organizations that expand your education beyond the classroom, provide networking opportunities with professionals and encourage community involvement:
- Beta Alpha Psi – Through weekly meet-and-greets with business professionals and professors, Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) encourages community connections, professional development and ethics for business and financial information majors. BAP has been awarded superior chapter status for many years in a row.
- Accounting Club – Featuring monthly educational meetings with guest speakers in attendance, the Accounting Club offers great learning and networking opportunities to further professional and personal development. The Accounting Club has hosted a pre-COB Career Fair event, newly dubbed the Success Fest in 2023, for accounting majors and recruiters to socialize for numerous years. The Club has been consistently awarded Gold Status over the years.
Hands-on learning
Internships allow you to integrate what you are learning in the classroom with practical experience in the workplace. These internships provide you with desirable professional experience and increase your professional connections. Oftentimes, students may turn their short-term internship into a full-time position through commitment to and professionalism in the organization.
Both undergraduate and graduate students may complete an internship for course credit. Speak with your advisor about how to coordinate and complete your internship for credit.
