Meet for class registration
Until you complete 75 credit hours (undergraduate), you must meet with your advisor once a semester to register for classes.
Afterward, you should meet with your advisor once a semester until you graduate.
You can discuss your academic plans, registration for the upcoming semester and explore career and educational opportunities.
Graduate advising
Once you’re admitted into your graduate program, you’re assigned an advisor from the faculty members within your area.
Your advisor helps you with your class schedule, research projects and thesis.
Honors advising
If you’re a student in the Honors College, you do not follow the normal advising process.
Instead, the Honors College assigns you an advisor.
Honors advisors understand both the requirements of the Honors College and the psychology degree.
Typically, you remain with the selected honors advisor during your freshman and sophomore years. Then, you can switch to an advisor whose training closely matches your professional goals.
