Become qualified for speech-language pathology

Is your bachelor’s degree (major) not in communication sciences and disorders?

You can still qualify for admission into MSU’s speech-language pathology graduate program.

All you need to do: Complete the necessary prerequisites (prior courses).

Two options available

To complete your prerequisites, you can either:

• Option 1: Take the leveling curriculum detailed below, which has a mix of seated and online courses.
• Option 2: Or, complete the 100% online graduate certificate program for preparation in speech-language pathology.

Once you've completed the prerequisites, you can apply to the SLP progrm and earn your degree in about two years.

• You must also have completed at least one course in the following non-CSD categories: biological science, physical science, statistics, and social/behavioral science.
• Courses in biological and physical sciences specifically related to communication sciences and disorders (CSD) cannot be applied for certification purposes in this category.
