Mixed Credit (General)

This form should be used by undergraduate students requesting permission to take up to six (6) hours of mixed (undergraduate and graduate) credit without first being admitted to a specific accelerated graduate program. Student should review the Undergraduate Students Taking Graduate Classes policy before completing this form.

Mixed Credit (Accelerated Graduate Programs)

This form should be used by students who are admitted into an approved accelerated graduate degree program and are requesting permission to have graduate (600-level or higher) class(es) count toward both an undergraduate and graduate degree. Student should review the Undergraduate Students Taking Graduate Classes policy before completing this form.

Senior Permission

This form should be used by undergraduate students requesting permission to take 600-level or higher courses for graduate credit only. Student should review the Undergraduate Students Taking Graduate Classes policy before completing this form.

Additional Information and Procedures

Registration Procedures

  • The completed form with all approving signatures must be taken to the Office of the Registrar, Carrington Hall, room 320 or Registrar@MissouriState.edu for processing.
  • Students must complete the process by registering for the class through the normal registration process. Additional registration blocks such as course requires permission; unmet prerequisite; program restriction; no seat available in class, etc. must be resolved with the department offering the class before registration can be completed.

Semester Enrollment Status

Senior Permission for Graduate Credit: Graduate classes will not count toward undergraduate enrollment status.

Mixed Credit: Graduate classes will count toward undergraduate enrollment status.

GPA and Degree Applicability

Senior Permission for Graduate Credit: Included in the graduate GPA only. Cannot count toward completion of any undergraduate degree requirement.

Mixed Credit: Included in both undergraduate and graduate GPA. Will count toward completion of all General Baccalaureate Degree Requirements.

Financial Aid Eligibility

It is highly recommended that students who receive any type of financial aid and enroll in classes for Senior Permission or Mixed Credit contact the Financial Aid Office with any questions.
