Scholarships and Financial Aid
Our department offers a number of scholarships for students pursuing a military science minor. These scholarships are designed to support your studies at Missouri State, reward excellence in the classroom, aid students based on financial need and more.
Army ROTC scholarships
The Army ROTC Scholarship program is open to all qualified, full-time University students. Two four-year scholarships are awarded each year on a best-qualified basis. Students do not need to be enrolled in military science classes to compete. Army ROTC Scholarships pay full tuition, required fees and book costs (1,200/yr), plus a monthly tax-free stipend of $300-$500 for 10 months of each school year of the scholarship. Students who receive an Army ROTC Scholarship incur a military service obligation which is completed after graduation either in the active or reserve components of the U.S. Army.
Simultaneous Membership Program
Additional financial assistance is available if you decide to enroll in the Simultaneous Membership Program while pursuing your degree.
External financial aid
The U.S. Army offers competitive financial assistance to cadets in the Army ROTC as well. ROTC Bear Battalion cadets may also qualify for other external scholarships.
University scholarships
You may also qualify for additional University-wide scholarships or financial aid. The office of student financial aid provides information about University scholarships, grants and loans.
MSU Foundation Scholarships
MSU Foundation Scholarships are made possible through private gifts to the University made by individuals, groups or companies. They are awarded to students each year based on a wide range of criteria: college, major/minor, high school attended, outstanding academic achievement, leadership, financial need, etc.
