The faculty in the department of Languages, Cultures and Religions understand that excellent education extends beyond the classroom. Whether you want to develop your professional skills, education abroad or become more involved in the department, our faculty support a variety of opportunities for you.
Spending time at a university in another country is a vital part of any foreign language program. Our department encourages its students to take advantage of Missouri State University’s Education Abroad programs.
The Missouri State Career Center offers a number of services for students, from assisting with the selection of a major to searching for future careers. If you are interested in further determining your skills and interests, consider completing one of the assessments offered by the Career Center and meeting with a career counselor.
Students can get involved on campus and expand their skills through membership in student organizations.
The department also has an active chapter of the Sigma Delta Pi Spanish Honor Society and Pi Delta Phi French Honer Society.
Students, alumni, faculty and staff can keep up with what's new in the department by reading the WLC blog.
The department offers a Spanish film night as well as a multilingual film night to showcase foreign films for Missouri State community.
