In compliance with the Missouri Sunshine Law and the Open Meetings and Records Policy (G1.17) , the Office of Internal Audit and Risk Management has been appointed as the Custodian of Records for all Missouri State University campuses.

Please note immediate record release may not be possible. We will work to fulfill your request as soon as possible.

Following the receipt of your written request by the Custodian of Records, we will respond within three business days. If we are unable to fulfill your request within three business days OR if your request cannot be fulfilled, we will provide a written explanation. We will do our best to produce all documents as quickly as possible.

In some instances, there will be a cost to fulfill your request. We will inform you of the cost and require prepayment in the form of check, money order, or by credit card.

For background investigations or records requests for federal investigators, we are familiar with using the DoD SAFE service for both receiving and responding to requests. Please use the email address listed above.

Effective July 15, 2021, Missouri State University has changed its policy for invoices, in that all requests are considered withdrawn if the requestor fails to remit all fees within thirty (30) days of the date of the invoice.
