Missouri State University-West Plains is located in Howell County in the residential/ business portion of the City of West Plains. The campus receives drinking water from the West Plains municipal water system and
discharges wastewater into the West Plains municipal sewage system.
Electricity is provided by West Plains City Utilities. Solid waste is picked up by
the City of West Plains trash service and disposed of at the Wright County Sanitary
Landfill.
There are no regulated air emissions or waste water discharge permits required for
the West Plains Campus and the campus does not store any extremely hazardous chemicals
exceeding the reportable threshold quantities. The West Plains Campus is a Conditionally
Exempt Small Quantity Generator of hazardous waste and the waste is accumulated on-site
for periodic removal.
