Effective January 1, 1992, the Missouri state regulations (10 CSR 80-3.010(3)) prohibit
the disposal of yard waste and vegetative waste in Missouri landfills. The Springfield
campus of Missouri State University has taken steps to provide mulching and composting
of the vegetative waste generated on campus during maintenance of the grounds. The
waste is to be deposited in the drop-off site north of the Early Childhood Building
at 621 East Elm Street. No vegetative waste is to be placed into the sanitary trash
dumpster.
