Fruit Experiment Station at Mountain Grove
- The Darr College of Agriculture operates the Fruit Experiment Station at Mountain Grove which is a rural/residential setting north of the City of Mountain Grove in Wright County.
- The facility is supplied drinking water from the Mountain Grove Public Water Supply. Mountain Grove municipal sewers are available within 100 yards of the station. Stormwater
runoff from the station flows to the south into a tributary of the Gasconade River.
- Electricity is provided by Se-Ma-No and natural gas is obtained from Southern Missouri Gas. Solid waste is disposed of
through the Wil-Co Disposal Trash Service and hauled to the Wright County Sanitary
Landfill for disposal.
- Hazardous waste is generated in small quantities in the chemistry labs and periodically
when pesticides become outdated or are no longer used. The facility is a Conditionally
Exempt Small Quantity Generator and the waste is accumulated on-site for periodic
removal.
- There are no regulated air emissions or waste water discharge permits required for
the station. A Tier II report is filed annually for pesticides that are stored on-site.
