Leadership Selection for 2025
Selection for the 2025 Missouri State PRIDE Band student leadership team is now underway! Our goal is to select the individuals that we feel will be the most successful in each position.
Winds
We will be selecting three section leaders for each wind section of the band.
- Head Section Leader / Music
- Section Leader / Visual
- Section Leader - Administrative (formerly communicator/mentor/social). This individual will serve the section in all three of these capacities.
Percussion
We will select three battery captains (one music, one visual, and one administrative), sub-section leads for each section (snare, tenors, bass, cymbals) and two front ensemble captains (one music and one administrative).
Color Guard
We will select one or more individuals to serve in the following capacities:
- Captain
- Visual
- Communicator
- Mentor
- Academic
- Social
Other Leadership Positions
- Two Mentors - These individuals will provide weekly updates for on-campus resources addressing academic succsss, mental health, important enrollment dates, and any other important information related to successful participation in the PRIDE Band.
- OTC Liaison - This person will serve as a resource for the many students in the PRIDE Band that are dually enrolled in both MSU and OTC.
- Pride Band Attendance Manager - This person will assist the directors in maintaining accurate attendance records for the entire PRIDE Band.
Previous experience in a position does not guarantee future positions. Every position is reconsidered each year. We will examine each individual’s record within the PRIDE Band program, the level of loyalty and commitment that each individual has demonstrated, and each individual’s academic achievement.
Applicants must understand that decisions are made with the best intentions for the entire band program. Every individual applying will be considered and discussed by the band staff.
Selection process
The following process will be utilized to pick the most qualified individuals to serve as student leaders for the 2025 edition of the PRIDE Band. Previous membership in the PRIDE Band is an eligibility requirement for all positions.

- All applicants are required to attend Drum Major Auditions on Thursday, May 1.

Final selections will be announced via email no later than Monday, May 5.
