Pride Color Guard & Winter Guard
The Pride Color Guard is a 75-member section of the 330-member Pride Marching Band, which performs at all BEARS football games, exhibition performances including the Ozarko Invitational Marching Band Festival, and prestigious national and international marching events such as the Tournament of Roses Parade, MACY'S Thanksgiving Day Parade, London New Year's Day Parade, Orange Bowl Parade, Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade, and the Bands of America Grand National Championships. In addition, the color guard participates annually in the indoor stage performance, A Musical Salute To Our Veterans, in the Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts.
The students in the color guard have skills in flag, rifle, and/or sabre, and the Pridette Danceline provides additional performance opportunities with the University Bands Entertainment Ensembles for color guard members with dance experience.
In the spring semester, the color guard becomes three winter guards - The Pride of Missouri State, National Avenue, and The 901 Performance Ensemble. MSU winter guards have earned 13 finalist appearances at the Winter Guard International World Championships, and have achieved 25 1st place finishes at the Mid-Continent Color Guard Association Championships.
