Academic support
Students can find academic assistance through some of the following services:
- The Bear CLAW
The Bear CLAW, an interactive space located in Meyer Library, connects your student to a variety of academic resources, including subject-area tutoring, the Writing Center, workshops, peer assisted study sessions, and employment and volunteer opportunities. - Computer Services Help Desk
The Help Desk assists students and parents with technology questions, including how to troubleshoot common problems, create an account, reset passwords and more. Contact the Help Desk by calling 417-836-5891. - Disability Resource Center
The Disability Resource Center provides equal access and opportunity to all campus programs and services for persons with disabilities, so that everyone can fully experience University Life. - Student Support and Opportunity Services
Student Support and Opportunity Services is the unit in the Division of Student Affairs that exists to foster and support the intellectual, social, and cultural development of all students. The Multicultural Resource Center serves as an academic and social gathering place for many students on campus. - TRIO
At Missouri State, we offer both TRiO Upward Bound, a program designed to serve local high school students, and TRiO Student Support Services, which provides academic, financial and advising help to current students.
Career services
We want your student to also be successful in the job world. The University provides a number of career services and networking opportunities to help your student land the perfect job:
- Internship opportunities
Missouri State is home to one of the state’s largest internship programs. Internships allow students to explore careers, interests and to gain valuable experience. Some internships are paid, and students can often earn college credit for their internship experiences. - The Career Center
The staff members at our Career Center offers career counseling, résumé workshops, mock interviewing, assistance with internship and full-time job searches and more, to help our students and alumni make insightful decisions about their careers. - Career fairs
The Career Center hosts a career fair each fall and a career expo each spring, with more than 125 local, regional and national employers in attendance.
