Program Requirements

If you are pursuing a degree in music, you must meet the below requirements to be eligible for graduation. Also, you must complete the general education program, fulfill the general baccalaureate degree requirements and complete at least 125 hours of coursework.

The music program can be non-comprehensive – therefore requiring the completion of a minor – or comprehensive, so that no minor is needed. Consult your advisor to determine which program is best for you.

The admission process

To gain full admittance into the music performance program, follow the steps below:

  1. Declare or change your major to music performance by visiting the Academic Advising and Transfer Center, University Hall 109

  3. Complete the program’s admission requirements
  4. Work with the music performance department to complete the Application to a Degree Program form to update your record

When you declare your major, you will be listed as a pre-major until you satisfy all admission requirements.
