This policy describes scholarships available to transfer students who enroll at MSU-Springfield during or following the summer semester of 2022. Students admitted for previous semesters should visit the How Do I Keep My Financial Aid page.
Students who transfer to MSU-Springfield with fewer than 24 transferable credit hours should refer to the General Scholarship Policies found on the Scholarships for Freshmen page.
To qualify, students must:
All scholarships can be renewed for two years beyond the first year (6 semesters in total). Scholarship Enrollment and Renewal Standards also apply to recipients of transfer scholarships.
Selected MSU-West Plains scholarships (i.e., Board of Governors, Chancellor’s, and Deans) offered by the West Plains campus are transferable to the Springfield campus by students who meet West Plains renewal criteria. Students will receive the Springfield campus value for the corresponding scholarship (Board of Governors, Provost, and Deans, respectively). These scholarships cannot be combined with other MSU transfer scholarships. Students who qualify for other transfer scholarships with a greater value will receive those scholarships instead.
A full waiver of non-resident tuition for fall and spring semesters (current annual value is approximately $8,092 annually for a student taking 28 credit hours).
Apply for admission and submit the Continue the Tradition Application. While there is no application deadline, students are encouraged to apply early to be considered for scholarships which do have deadlines.
Recipients must be the child or grandchild of an MSU graduate (bachelor’s degree or higher) and classified as non-residents for fee purposes.

Successfully complete 27 hours at MSU each academic year and maintain satisfactory academic progress. This waiver can be renewed for as long as students remain continuously enrolled.
This waiver can be combined with any of the transfer scholarships that do not already provide a waiver of out-of-state tuition.

This scholarship considers financial need. Please submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) preferably by Feb. 1.

This award pays any outstanding tuition and fees after federal, state, and institutional grants and scholarships. Students who have all their tuition and fees covered by these other programs will not receive the MoState Access Award.

Eligible students will be identified based on application for admission and college transcripts. No additional application is required.
Students must be classified as non-residents of Missouri for fee purposes and must have completed at least 24 hours with a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher.

Renewable for two years for students who successfully complete 27 MSU credit hours each academic year with a cumulative MSU grade point average of 3.00 or higher.
This waiver can be combined with any of the other transfer scholarships that do not already provide a waiver of out-of-state tuition.
$1,000 per year
Apply for admission and complete the PTK Scholarship Application by June 1 for students entering in the summer or fall semesters or by December 1 for students entering in the spring semester.
Students must be active members of Phi Theta Kappa. An active member is defined as one who actively participated in PTK meetings and events prior to the application deadline.

Renewable for two years for students who successfully complete 27 hours each academic year at MSU with a cumulative MSU grade point average of 3.25 or higher.
This scholarship can be combined with the Transfer Academic Scholarship and Transfer Excellence Scholarship and the Out-of-State Tuition Waiver.
$1,500 per year
Apply for admission by June 1 for students entering in the summer or fall semesters or by December 1 for students entering in the spring semester.
Students must either have completed (or must complete prior to their first semester at MSU) at least 24 transferable credit hours at the previous institution with a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher.
General transfer scholarship policies (above) also apply.
Renewable for two years for students who successfully complete 27 hours each academic year at MSU with a cumulative MSU grade point average of 3.25 or higher.
This scholarship can be combined with the PTK Scholarship and the Out-of-State Tuition Waiver.
$2,500 per year
Apply for admission by June 1 for students entering in the summer or fall semesters or by December 1 for students entering in the spring semester.
Students must either have completed (or must complete prior to their first semester at MSU) a) an associate’s degree with a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher at the previous institution or b) at least 24 transferable credit hours with a cumulative grade point average of 3.65 or higher at the previous institution.
General transfer scholarship policies (above) also apply.
Renewable for two years for students who successfully complete 27 hours at MSU each academic year with a cumulative MSU grade point average of 3.25 or higher.
This scholarship can be combined with the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship and the Out-of-State Tuition Waiver.
$3,500 per year
Apply for admission by June 1 for students entering in the summer or fall semesters or by December 1 for students entering in the spring semester.
Students must either have completed (or must complete prior to their first semester at MSU) a) an associate’s degree with a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher at the previous institution or b) at least 24 transferable credit hours with a cumulative grade point average of 3.65 or higher at the previous institution. Additionally, students must be admitted to the MSU Honors College to receive the fund.
General transfer scholarship policies (above) also apply.
Renewable for two years for students who successfully complete 27 hours at MSU each academic year with a cumulative MSU grade point average of 3.25 or higher. Additionally, students must continue enrollment in the MSU Honors College.
This scholarship can be combined with the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship and the Out-of-State Tuition Waiver.
MSU Foundation Scholarships are made possible through private gifts to the University made by individuals, groups or companies. They are awarded to students each year based on a wide range of criteria: college, major/minor, high school attended, outstanding academic achievement, leadership, financial need, etc.
