Homeschooled Students

We recommend making sure you meet our freshman admission requirements first. You can then fill out our online application for admission. It’s FREE and takes about 15 minutes. You’ll also need to request official transcripts for high school and any college credit you completed. 

If you don’t meet our admission requirements, please refer to our admission alternatives.

Be sure a parent or an administrator sends your transcript electronically or in the mail. Please note that we will not accept transcripts sent directly by students. Check out our Send Transcripts to Missouri State guide for more details.

Your transcript only needs to include the following items:

• Name and semester you took each class.
• Amount of credit each class is worth, and grade received.
• Your cumulative GPA.

Please note that your final transcript must list a graduation date. Your coursework will also need to meet our traditional freshman admission requirements. Need help getting started? Try our free homeschool transcript template.

Homeschool students can apply for the same types of aid as traditional students. We encourage you to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This helps determine your eligibility for many forms of financial aid, including:

• Grants, which are FREE and don’t need to be repaid. Most grants are offered based on your FAFSA results.
• Loans, which do need to be repaid following graduation. Many low-interest options are available.
• Scholarships, which are also FREE and don’t need to be repaid. Many of these are based on factors like academic achievement or extracurricular activities. Learn more about scholarships available to Missouri State students.

Yes! If you’ve earned or will earn dual credit, please contact your college or university about sending your transcripts to Missouri State. If you’ve taken any placement tests, refer to our AP, CLEP or IB webpages to learn more about required scores and how to submit them.

We only need a HiSET/GED score if you choose to earn your high school diploma through one of these tests and don’t have a GPA on file. View our admission policy for students with a high school equivalency diploma.
