As a public affairs service of the Counseling program of the School of Mental Health
and Behavioral Sciences, the Clinic's mission is to serve the community. The clinic
was established over 20 years ago with the vision of growing with the community and
guaranteeing access to mental health services.
CCCC offers in-person counseling sessions for:
Adults, couples, teens, and children ages 3-12.
We serve individuals across southwest Missouri, including students, faculty, and staff
from local colleges and universities.
Our clinic is inclusive and supports the diverse individuals in our community. We
welcome clients of all ethnicities, nationalities, spiritual beliefs, and gender identities.
We accept all clients regardless of income, ethnicity, spiritual beliefs, or sexual
orientation. As part of the University’s mission, Center City Counseling Clinic is
committed to Ethical Leadership, Cultural Competence, and Community Engagement.
To schedule a counseling session, please call the clinic at 417-836-3215. If we are unable to answer, please leave a message, and we will return your call
promptly.
During the phone intake, we will ask for the following information:

Reason for seeking counseling
A brief screening
Phone intake takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. After the intake, we will
either schedule your appointment or place you on a waitlist, depending on availability.
Our fees are based on a sliding scale, ranging from $0 to $20 per session, depending on income. We will waive the fee entirely if it presents a
financial hardship. No one will be turned away due to an inability to pay.
You will receive a 24-hour reminder via text or phone call.
Parking and Location: You can use the free parking garage attached to the Meyer Alumni Center building
where the clinic is located on the 5th floor. Elevators are immediately inside the building.
Check-in: Upon arrival, please check in with the Graduate Assistant at the front desk.
First-time clients: Please arrive 30 minutes early for intake paperwork and to complete the new client process.
Payment: Payment is due at the beginning of each session (cash or check).
Session Length: Each session lasts approximately 50 minutes.
Your counselor will greet you in the waiting area and escort you to your session room.
Note: Sessions are recorded and monitored by a licensed counseling supervisor for safety
and supervision purposes
Please give us as much notice as possible—preferably 24 hours—if you need to cancel. After three missed appointments without prior notice, you will be placed on the waitlist and may need to wait for a new spot to open.

Ongoing Scheduling: Sessions will be at the same time each week for the semester. Sessions can continue
into the next semester but might be at a new time, and you will be assigned a different
counselor.
