To view the schedule of classes and register, log in to your My Missouri State. You can check your earliest registration date and time by selecting your Registration Status link. You can also register via Trial Schedule Builder which allows you to view multiple schedule options and build in time blocks for your
other obligations. The Class Schedule Search also allows you to search for offered classes. If you have academic questions or
require an Advisor Release, please contact your advisor as soon as the semester class
schedule becomes available.
If you have no holds that block registration, you may add a class or make a section
change online through the "Add or Drop Classes" link in My Missouri State.
First-time, new in college students will register at SOAR Orientation.
When adding a class after the first week, departmental approval will be required.
You must contact the offering department and get approval using the Change of Schedule
(Add/Drop) Form. Approval can be via email from the department or via signed and stamped
form. The completed form or email must be submitted to the Office of the Registrar
for processing.
You may change sections of the same class and receive an even exchange of fees if
the two sections are the same part of term.
Send the Change of Schedule Form to the department for late registration approval and include both the dropped and
added class on the form.
Note: The fee exchange is not applicable for sections that are different parts of
term or special topics classes with the same course number that are different topics
(variable topics).
If you have a registration hold that prevents web registration, you will need to clear
the hold with the appropriate office before initial registration can take place. Refer
to your Registration Status for hold information.
If you are registered for at least one class before the hold was placed on your account,
you may request a change of schedule by email the Office of the Registrar at Registrar@MissouriState.edu. Late registration procedures still apply.
If a specific class is causing a Registration Error, a message will appear in the
window explaining the error and whom to contact. Typically, the department that offers
the class or the department of your major can assist.
If a class has a waitlist option and is full, you can select the “Waitlist Online”
in the "Action" drop down in the Registration Page.
* Being on the waitlist does not mean you are registered for the class.
If a seat becomes available, an email is sent to your Missouri State email account.
You will have exactly 24 hours (excluding weekends) to register for the class through
the Add or Drop Classes link in My Missouri State.
You may withdraw from one or more of your classes online through the "Add or Drop Classes" link in My Missouri State.
If you have a registration hold, you can drop classes by accessing the "Drop Classes with a Hold" link in My Missouri State.
You should submit a Drop Exception Appeal Request Form if you need to drop a class
after the official drop deadline due to overwhelming, unforeseen circumstances which
interfered with your ability to successfully complete the class.
If you drop all of your classes, there are a number of offices that may need to be
contacted.
Financial Aid: If you drop below full-time status, financial aid can be affected. Dropping a class
can reduce a student’s Pell Grant and could also impact a future loan level. Loan
recipients who drop below half time will start using their loan grace period. Dropping
a class can also create satisfactory academic progress problems, and the students
may not be eligible for any future financial aid assistance. Contact the Office of Student Financial Aid for questions.
Meal Plans: Contact the Dining Services Office regarding the refund policy for meal plans which are independent of a housing contract.
Parking: Parking permits must be returned to the Parking Office if you wish to receive a refund of the parking permit fee.
BearPass Card: If you have a BearPass Card Debit Account you must complete a BearPass Card Debit
Account Withdrawal form which is available at the BearPass Card Office. This form will cancel the account and authorize a refund of the account balance.
You should use the drop procedures judiciously as dropping classes will generally
result in extending the time required to complete a degree. In addition, dropping
below a full-time or half-time enrollment status may jeopardize insurance, financial
aid, scholarship, athletic participation eligibility and immigration status for F-1
or J-1 students.
If you wish to drop a class because of a concern regarding your grade, you are encouraged
to consult with the instructor prior to dropping. If you are concerned about the impact
of dropping a class on your progress toward graduation, you are encouraged to consult
with your academic advisor prior to dropping.
