Residency Reclassification - Missouri Residency Established
If you have experienced specific circumstances after you started classes, you may
already meet the requirements to be considered a Missouri resident. In these cases,
you may submit an application and the required documentation so we can review and
update your residency for tuition and fee purposes.
Each circumstance listed below outlines the type of documentation required. Select
each type of documentation for details on which documents can be used to satisfy that
specific documentation requirement.
You are under 21 and your parent/guardian has moved to Missouri, works full time/has
professional practice/conducts business full time in Missouri.
Provide one of the following:
Current lease agreement.
Mortgage statement or property deed.
Notarized statement verifying physical residence with reasons why lease or mortgage
information cannot be provided.
Provide one of the following:
Letter from employer stating full time employment status.
Human resource documentation specifically stating full-time employment status.
Professional practice or business license documentation.
Note: W2's and paycheck stubs are not accepted.
Provide one of the following:
Parent/guardian's prior year's federal taxes showing student claimed as dependent.
Entire tax transcript is not needed, only page 1 of tax return, outlining dependent
information.
Notarized statement verifying physical residence of student with parent/guardian when
not enrolled.
Copy of divorce decree or legal custody arrangement for joint or sole legal and/or
physical custody.
Provide one of the following:
Missouri driver’s license.
Missouri state identification (nondriver).
You are under 21 and your parent/guardian retired to Missouri.
Provide one of the following:
Current lease agreement.
Mortgage statement or property deed.
Notarized statement verifying physical residence with reasons why lease or mortgage
information cannot be provided.
Provide one of the following:
Human resource documentation regarding retirement.
Notarized statement by parent/guardian, verifying retirement status.
Provide one of the following:
Parent/guardian's prior year's federal taxes showing student claimed as dependent.
Entire tax transcript is not needed, only page 1 of tax return, outlining dependent
information.
Copy of divorce decree or legal custody arrangement for joint or sole legal and/or
physical custody.
Notarized statement verifying physical residence of student with parent/guardian when
not enrolled.
Provide one of the following:
Missouri driver’s license.
Missouri state identification (nondriver).
You are under 21 and currently work full time, filed prior year’s State of Missouri
income taxes and cannot be claimed as dependent on parent/guardian taxes.
Provide one of the following:
Current lease agreement.
Mortgage statement or property deed.
Notarized statement verifying physical residence with reasons why lease or mortgage
information cannot be provided.
Note: Student housing is not accepted.
Provide one of the following:
Letter from employer stating full time employment status.
Human resource documentation specifically stating full-time employment status.
Professional practice or business license documentation.
Note: W2's and paycheck stubs are not accepted.
Your prior year’s federal taxes showing that you cannot be claimed as dependent on
someone else’s taxes.
Entire tax transcript is not needed, only page 1 of tax return.
Provide one of the following:
Missouri driver’s license.
Missouri state identification (nondriver).
You are 21 or older and currently work full time/has professional practice/conducts
business full time in Missouri.
Provide one of the following:
Current lease agreement.
Mortgage statement or property deed.
Notarized statement verifying physical residence with reasons why lease or mortgage
information cannot be provided.

Provide one of the following:
Letter from employer stating full time employment status.
Human resource documentation specifically stating full-time employment status.

Your spouse currently works full time/has professional practice/conducts business
full time in Missouri.

information cannot be provided.

Provide one of the following:
Letter from employer stating full time employment status
Human resource documentation specifically stating full-time employment status.
Professional practice or business license documentation.

Marriage license.
Prior year’s federal income taxes, page 1 only, showing married tax filing.
Provide one of the following:
Missouri driver’s license.
Missouri state identification (nondriver).
You are married a Missouri resident, who currently works full time/has professional
practice/conducts business full time in Missouri.
Provide one of the following:
Current lease agreement.
Mortgage statement or property deed.
Notarized statement verifying physical residence with reasons why lease or mortgage
information cannot be provided.

Provide one of the following:
