Residency Reclassification - Military
Military personnel and their dependents may provide documentation showing home of
record as Missouri or orders of station within the state of Missouri. Missouri National
Guard members may submit documentation, as outlined below.
Residency Reclassification Application
If you or your spouse are serving in the military, the following documentation is
required for your residency reclassification application.
Select each type of documentation for details on which documents can be used to satisfy
that specific documentation requirement.
- Military documentation for you or your spouse
Provide one of the following:
Current military orders showing duty station in State of Missouri.
Military documentation showing home of record as State of Missouri.
- Proof of marriage (if applicable)
Provide one of the following:
Marriage license.
Prior year’s federal income taxes, page 1 only, showing married tax filing.
If your parent or guardian is serving in the military, the following documentation
is required for your residency reclassification application.
Select each type of documentation for details on which documents can be used to satisfy
that specific documentation requirement.
- Military documentation for parent/guardian
Provide one of the following:
Current military orders showing duty station in State of Missouri.
Military documentation showing home of record as State of Missouri.
- Proof of dependent status
Provide one of the following:
Parent/guardian's prior year's federal taxes showing student claimed as dependent.
Entire tax transcript is not needed, only page 1 of tax return, outlining dependent
information.
Notarized statement verifying physical residence of student with parent/guardian when
not enrolled.
Copy of divorce decree or legal custody arrangement for joint or sole legal and/or
physical custody.
If you are serving in the Missouri National Guard, the following documentation is
required for your residency reclassification application.

- Documentation from Missouri National Guard
Official, current documentation showing active or reserve status in the Missouri National
Guard.
Provide one of the following:
Missouri driver’s license.
Missouri state identification (nondriver).
- Proof of physical residence
Provide one of the following:
Current lease agreement.
Mortgage statement or property deed.
Notarized statement verifying physical residence with reasons why lease or mortgage
information cannot be provided.
