Consortium Agreements
Op5.08-1 Consortium Agreements
Missouri State has four types of consortiums for dual enrollment that are used to determine financial aid eligibility. Only classes required for the student’s degree program and eligible for credit transfer can be included. Consortiums are semester specific and a new one is required each semester of dual enrollment. The consortium deadline is Friday of the first week of classes for fall and spring and Tuesday of the first week for summer.
Standard Consortium. This consortium is available to Pell recipients that are dually enrolled by their own choice at another accredited university. The combined enrollment will be used to calculate federal grant eligibility (Pell, ACG, SMART, TEACH).
All other financial aid will be based on MSU enrollment (must be at least half-time). State grants and university scholarships that require full-time enrollment at the institution awarding aid will be forfeited for that semester.
Cooperative Degree Completion Consortium. This consortium is for students that are admitted to a cooperative degree completion program and are completing all or part of their academic requirements at an off-campus location. Tracking classes will be added to the MSU registration schedule equivalent to the number of host hours. The combined enrollment will be reflected and used for determining financial aid eligibility, to include federal, state, and university funds.
Medical/Radiography Consortium. Students that are completing their medical or radiography clinical requirements at Cox or Mercy are eligible for financial aid.
Tracking classes will be added to the MSU registration schedule equivalent to the number of host hours. The combined enrollment will be reflected and used for determining financial aid eligibility, to include federal, state, and university funds.
Visiting Student Consortium. There are 2 situations that financial aid can be provided to qualified students that are not attending MSU. Tracking classes equivalent to the host enrollment will be added to the MSU registration schedule and used to determine financial eligibility.
- Summer Geology Field Trip*. A summer field trip is required for geology majors but is not offered by MSU. MU has an approved course that meets this requirement. Any other location must be pre-approved. A copy of the pre-approval must be submitted with consortium.
- Last Semester Elsewhere*. Students that have applied for graduation and have been pre-approved to complete their last requirements at another institution are eligible for financial aid. Tracking classes equivalent to the host enrollment will be added to the MSU registration schedule and used to determine financial eligibility.
A copy of pre-approval must be submitted with the consortium.
*Pre-approval. The academic department head must complete a pre-approval of transfer credit form before financial aid will be approved. The original will be submitted to the MSU Admissions Office and a copy attached to the consortium agreement.
