Do we get to choose which LCS student we want to be placed with our agency?
During the first week of classes in late August, we have the "Agency Mixer". At this
event, all partnering agencies will get two minutes to present to the LCS members.
This is your agency's opportunity to market yourself to the students. After the presentations,
the LCS members have time to network with the different agencies in attendance. After
the Agency Mixer, members have 2 weeks to make phone calls, schedule interviews, and
find a placement. We've found that this prcess is mutually benefical for both the
LCS members and agencies.
What majors have LCS members usually declared?
LCS members have majors in all areas of the university; however, their majors will
not limit the skills and benefits that the students can provide your agency.
When does LCS begin?
The LCS year begins with the start of the fall semester in August and ends with the
completion of the spring semester in May. Summer is not included in the LCS calendar
year. Holidays and university breaks are optional work times. Each LCS member is expected
to serve the same agency for both fall and spring semesters.
