Biography
Dr. Friske’s research area is marketing strategy. Within the broader domain of marketing strategy, he is currently interested in entrepreneurial marketing and corporate social responsibility (CSR). His research on entrepreneurial marketing often takes a regulatory or public policy perspective. For instance, he has investigated how marketing restrictions and taxes affect new venture creation, SME marketing strategies, and competition. He has also studied how SMEs and local governments collaborate to support cross-border logistics. His work in CSR is primarily focused on firm-level CSR communication strategies, such as voluntary reporting and sustainability reporting practices. Dr. Friske’s research appears or is forthcoming in a wide variety of peer-reviewed journals, including Electronic Commerce Research and Applications, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Business Logistics, and Journal of Macromarketing, among others.
