GENERAL FUNCTION
The Lecturer is an unranked faculty member who is appointed to teach specific course(s) on a term contract and is qualified by academic or practical experience appropriate for the assigned teaching responsibilities. This rank is used only on the West Plains campus.
MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum acceptable qualifications for the position of Lecturer are prescribed in the Faculty Handbook. The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential duties and responsibilities of the Lecturer are assigned by the academic Department Head. The Lecturer facilitates a learning environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
SUPERVISION
The Lecturer receives administrative supervision from the Department Head and may exercise supervision of graduate assistants, undergraduate majors, or student employees.
