GENERAL FUNCTION
The Practitioner-in-Residence is a non-tenure track faculty position appointed on the basis of outstanding professional attainments and recognition in his or her specific field and renders a specified service to the University.
MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum acceptable qualifications for the position of Practitioner-in-Residence are prescribed in the Faculty Handbook. The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential duties and responsibilities of the Practitioner-in-Residence are assigned by the academic department head. The Practitioner-in-Residence facilitates a learning environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
SUPERVISION
The Practitioner-in-Residence receives administrative supervision from the department head and may exercise supervision of graduate assistants, undergraduate majors, or student employees.
