MSU Water Testing
Get the Lead Out of School Drinking Water Act
In 2022, Missouri Legislation took a step to reduce lead exposure in children by passing the Get the Lead out of School Drinking Water Act (RSMo 160.077) which sets standards for lead concentrations in school drinking water. This Act requires schools (Pre-K through 12th grade and early childhood education) to conduct inventory, sampling, remediation, and monitoring of all potable drinking water outlets used or potentially being used for drinking, food preparation, and cooking or cleaning utensils.
In accordance with this Act, Missouri State University has completed testing on the water outlets found at Greenwood Laboratory School and the MSU Child Development Center.
